Gastational Diabetes Causes

During pregnancy, your placenta makes hormones that cause glucose to build up in your blood . Usually , your pancreas can send out enought insulin to handle it . But if your body can’t make enough insulin or stop using insulin as it should ,your blood sugar rise , and you get gestational diabetes.

Symptoms

Same as Type 1 and type 2

Signs of emergency

1) sugar in the urine

2) unusual thirst

3) frequent urination

4) fatigue

5) nausea

6 ) blurred vision

7) vaginal , bladder and skin infections

Treatment

Medication . It diet and exercise aren’t enough , you may need insulin injections to lower your blood sugar . Between 10% and 20% of women with gestational diabetes need insulin to reach their blood sugar goals .
